Books
Ghostwriting: The cover and title page contain your name only with an acknowledge of our editing/writing assistance within the book's introductory material. In rare circumstances we may agree to share proceeds from sales as a part of the total fee, but generally half payment is due up front, non-returnable, with the remainder due upon completion of the contracted work. Cost: $3,500-$7,500, negotiated on basis of original work, research, etc., required for the project.
Costs for post-manuscript revisions and additions are negotiated separately.
Magazine articles, Web content
Negotiable, but generally the rates established by publications involved for freelance work.
Prices can include text and original photography, as applicable.
Straight editing, writing, research hourly
Cost ranges from $35 to $75 per hour, negotiable based on variables of the work involved. Set "piecework" fees also can be negotiated for such straightforward work as publicity or news releases.
